My amazing wife surprised me with a new Fender Classic 60s lacquer Jazz Bass. It just got here so I figured I'd add some pics! Full report tomorrow on how she plays and sounds!!

you're a very lucky man and your wife must be a fine one too. ;)

whenever i get a bass related gift from my girlfriend (i mean real ones not pencils with f keys on them (stupid ex)), i understand what women go on about when they speak of "putting thought into a gift". they always make me veeery happy. then again it is kinda obvious what us lot are into.

Well gents,
Here is my report as promised!!
-The bass was set up perfectly upon arrival. I did not have to change a thing so A+
- Fit and finish was flawless. Frets were well dressed no high or low spots, no sharp edges . The fret board is absolutely perfect. The grain and color are gorgeous. Nice deep Rosewood color. The finish on the back of the neck is a nice gloss lacquer which is incredibly smooth. For my style I don't need to take any fine steel wool to it. The body finish is flawless. No blemish spots (waxy build up) and it was polished to a beautiful glossy sheen.
- Hardware really nice. Looks exactly like 60's era stuff. PUPs sound fantastic. They sound vintage to me. Not as hot as the newer J Bass pups but nice and full, really warm. When pushed you still can get the nice Jazz growl from them.
- Overall sound and playability: Fantastic!
I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Fender far exceeded my expectations with this one!
