My local GC had the same one at the same price sitting right next to the black one that cost twice as much. I would have bought it if it was long scale.
Yeah that's annoying about some long scale basses with necks that start right at the end of the body. My very first bass that I bought new was the long scale Epi SG. I have fairly long arms but those first few frets were quite a reach.Very nice basses and a great deal!
The long scale version was pretty uncomfortable to me. Sounded good but man it was a reach to that 1st fret!
Funny you mentioned that. GC in Sacramento has a New MM Sterling black with maple fretboard on the wall right now for 999.97. It's an in store only purchase. Online they are around 1500...Guitar Center has some stupidly amazing deals once in a while.
