Hello. I am new to this forum, as well as playing bass. I am a guitar player, bit wanted to try and tackle another instrunment. I went out yesterday and bought a Yamaha TRBX174EW in Mango Wood. It's a beautiful instrument. I really love it so far. I do have a question. I willainly be using this to do some home recording. Is a Digitech DP90 ok for that use?

The BP90 doesn't have a USB recording interface but could be used with a mixer into your computer. The Digitech BP355 does have USB recording ability. You should check out the Zoom B3 as well. Great unit!
Hope this helps,
Brent

In true TB style, one day in and you've already got your second bass sitting behind your first!

You're gonna fit right in. Enjoy the ride!

Hi! Welcome aboard! That is a beautiful bass!

I'm not familiar with the DP90 itself, but in my experience some guitar modulation type effects work acceptably with bass if not ideal. Chorus, reverb, flangers, some octave/harmony devices. Guitar distortions I've tried generally sound horrible with bass. Bass specific effects are always your best bet, but for home use the DP90 will probably do until gas kicks in!

Yamaha makes some sweet basses. I had the older version of that one for a while, rbx174. I reeeally liked it. The only minor detail was that the j pickup was a bit buzzy, but idk if that was just mine.
Congrats, enjoy it, and welcome!

Congrats on a beautiful bass.
I played one and thought they were real nice, especially at this price you can't go wrong.

If you consider the Zoom B3, this Ebay store has them w/ 20% off orders over $125 ( it will show up in the cart)
That's $160 shipped. Shipping took about 5 business days. I bought from them with this sale price last fall.
