After a long a painful process of deciding what short scale semi-hollow would best fit what I needed, I settled on this Rumblekat model. And, well, with "demo" pricing and ridiculous financing deals available through Sweetwater, I had no excuses. She's resting comfortably after some new strings (LaBella short scale flats) and a slight bridge adjustment. I'll save the proper tweaks until she's acclimated a day or two. Can't wait to get her gig ready!

Epiphone is making some decent instruments these days-- the CNC plant in Korea has the set necks down, which used to be seriously skilled labor, and the fret placing is accurate, and everything else is workable or replaceable. I have been a die-hard Fender guy my whole life, but I would have a hard time leaving my JCS at home. I bought one of the EB-3s just for the nostalgia (my profile photo was taken in 1970 I think) and it was commandeered by my granddaughter-- haven't had a chance to try a Woody, but they look interesting.

Nice!!! That's one covergirl in the looks department! And Kats have that classic tone. Heard one with a set of GHS Pressurewounds on it that was a total dream. Dial down the tone and you got your solid woody thump. Turn it up a bit and you were into vintage '60s Cal Psychedelic territory. Slap a hint of reverb and vibrato on it and you got Surf City. (Too bad it was Annette who always wore the most modest bikini on the set in those early movies with Frankie, right?<*sigh*> ;))

Great basses. And as I said earlier, not too hard on the eyes.

Congratulations. Play it well!
