Well I Did it! I bought a short Short Scale. In the past 8 years my ability to play has been going downhill. I did gain some ability back by following some great advice from a Talkbass member. Still, when I picked up my full size Precision it hurt like hell. My problem is neck length and guage of the strings. Playing in the first position was playing heck with my wrist. Lighter strings definitely helped. But I thought I would try a Shorter Scale. So off to Guitar Center. I still love going there. Little bit of a drive but that’s part of the fun for me. Anyway walked over to check out the basses in SS. There were only two. One Black the other Blue. Ibanez Mikro In 28+in. Scale. Aside from an easily removed surface scratch it was in great shape. These basses sound great through a Rumble!! Easy to play and setup was Perfect! Great fret work no sharp edges. The Blue one was
Nice but the bridge placement put the treble side to close to the edge of the fingerboard. The neck would have needed some tweaking. I really wanted a white one but chose the black. This is a great little bass. Also, GC could not guarantee the bass wouldn’t come From another store then shipped out as if it had come From the Central Warehouse. Lots of complaints by customers and the management from The store. Anyway what a relief that it was so comfortable. And like I said a great bass all in all. They gave me a 10% discount and I was a very happy customer. Again another positive experience. Thanks for reading! May The Pain Be Without you.
I've heard nothing but good things about those Mikros. I was actually watching some reviews on them this past weekend as I was considering one for my son. Well done and congrats! I hope it gives you years of pain-free playing and enjoyment!!
