NBD!

I don't know how many of you saw my post in the amp section about my Guitar Center fiasco involving a pathetically poor packing job and subsequently non-working amp but about the same time that I ordered that amp I also ordered a used bass.
After the amp fiasco I was expecting the worst but it came today packed bullet proof and in way better condition than I had expected. They said 'Great' condition and it is definitely great and then some maybe. Very minor signs of use.
And it also came in a gig bag, which wasn't mentioned, and had a strap and instrument cable. Has my favorite strings too.

Where's the demo vid?

ha ha....not likely to happen. I'm just a beginner albeit advanced I guess you could say. I've got a hint of bass experience way in the past and some 6-string experience and a decent amount of theory so I'm way ahead of your average beginner but nowhere near demo ready ;^ )
You wouldn't know until you watched yourself. You'd probably be amazed.

The strings were loosened for shipping (wish they wouldn't do that) and it was 7 days in transit so hopefully the neck will straighten up a bit, otherwise it'll need an adjustment. Right now the action is way too high and the intonation is way off.
If the strings were loosened, the neck should actually be straighter , due to the lack of tension…also the neck won’t miraculously straighten itself in a few days with tension on it after you tuned it up, so it needing adjusting is a given, not a maybe

Yea, I figured that out already...just had a brain fart :^ / I've already given it a tweak (about a quarter turn maybe a bit less)and will wait until tomorrow to see the final result. It definitely made some difference immediately because all the strings went sharper.

Nice! I think I saw that guy and considered getting it. Glad it went to a good home.

FWIW I’ve gotten 2 amps and 2 basses on GC used, only one Bass got damaged in shipping. Others came well packed and arrived safely. I think it’s a crap shoot, depending on the location, employee and what “recycled” packing materials they have on hand that day.

Those P bass specials are awesome serious sleeper. Enjoy it. There’s a club right here…

PS What are your favorite strings? Aren’t those the stock Squier strings?

I thought they might be GHS Boomers but maybe other strings have the red wrapped ends?
AFAIK Boomers don’t have silk on the ball ends.

Rotosound do, but they should have the silks on the headstock end all lined up, parallel to the nut. The staggered silks up the headstock was my clue… also I think Rotosound have red/white/blue ball ends (which I can’t see)

At any rate, not trying to dump on the strings. If you like em that’s all that matters!
