I would say it's light in the scheme of things. Without a scale it's about the same as the two parts basses, approx 7 1/2 lbs. The Squier Musicmaster with the Grumpy guard is the heaviest at about 9 lbs.

The only change I might make is the pickups. Not because they sound bad but the two parts-basses have Sentell's that were wound to match the output of the Musicmaster's Vista Tone and that is significantly more powerful and full than the stock ones. I like to have the outputs as standard as possible on output so I can change out at a gig when I want and not have to futz with the board.

One thing at a time though.

I cheated on my MIM Player PJ. I bought a cut vinyl stripe and applied it myself.

Great collection. Those stripes look good. I tried that once but they looked like a drunk monkey put them on, all crooked and nasty. :roflmao:

Funny too that I had 3 of those exact basses in your collection at one time or another. The Hofner Ignition, the Gretsch, and the Epi Rumblekat. Always come back to my Musicmasters and Mustangs though.

Thanks. That first one that my son did was actually his idea. He was really into airbrushing and wanted to give it a try. Our daughter has her own house now with a craft room and asked to get in on one too. So how can I say no to that? Great kids and talented artists.

That's a rough guess based on the weight of the parts-basses and the little time I've had with it. After messing with it last night I only got to play it for about 1/2 hr. The neck is a little thicker than the Bronco ones but not bad. Thanks too!

But that inspired me, and my Squier Competition Mustang came in today. But where he got the blue with white stripes I really wanted the orange with red stripes. Put some flats on it, strap locks, and changed the knobs from black to red. It plays very nice and I didn't have to mess with the setup at all. I bought it on presale from CME. I really wish it had a matching headstock though. And I could not get a set of speed knobs on the pots either, have those on the rest and really like them.

I did shoot a video of the unboxing in case of damage, but all was fine. It was well packed, safe and sound.

I was suspect about "orange with red stripes" until I saw the picture. I love the way those two colors go together.
