There's a piezo under the bridge.
That little wooden circle is the volume knob.
There's a simple treble cut/tone control in back: wide open is flat, anything else cuts the treble.
It's simple and works great.

The signal from the piezo is hot!
Had to turn the input trim on my Plex down to about what an active bass requires.
But yeah - PotentiallyTooQuiet may be my new handle.
