Yeah, I know week 1 isn't even quite over yet, what with Sunday and Monday games, but this way we won't all forget to start a thread before games on some other oddball day. College games should be on Saturday, otherwise hidebound people like me get confused.

Anyway, another patsy for the Huskies coming up. Yawn. Nobody will know if they are any good for a few weeks.

There's still another couple weeks before Ivy League football's season opens.

Florida blows out Kentucky, but that's hardly news. At least on the football field.
I was in Seattle all day Saturday, heard the blowout of Idaho. We even ran into some kind hearted Vandal fans getting a head start home.
I didn't watch any games this weekend, but I'll get into the groove once everyone settles into their conference schedule.

Well, my Colorado State Rams beat UTSA as predicted, and it was a lovely mid 70's day in the stands.

Unfortunately the Cougs fell by a field goal (again) on that eye-offending blue field at Boise State. Congrats to the Broncos, they're a well-coached team that executes well. And the Cougs need to play harder - Leach says the difference is toughness, and I tend to agree. It would help if they wrapped up and tackled, instead of just hitting.

I can't look at the blue turf for more than three or four plays at a time. Irritating on my eyes, so I look away or change the channel.

Another step towards a classic Apple Cup this past weekend.

Houston didn't seem to have much trouble with Cincinnati. Ohio State at Oklahoma will be a good one.

Ivy League games start this Saturday.
Houston did look pretty sluggish in the first half, but they cranked it way up after that.

Urban's had lots of time to prep for OU, what with two cupcakes to open the season. And Mayfield has been very ordinary in the two big games I've seen him in. I think the Sooners are going to get pounded.

Riddle me this, folks. #12 Michigan State is a 7-point underdog at #18 Notre Dame. Is home field now worth like 10+ points? Especially when East Lansing isn't all that far from South Bend?

If my Cougs don't beat Idaho this weekend, it's time to join Dandy Don in singing "Turn Out The Lights."

But that won't happen. Leach's teams start slow and improve as they go.

For those who don't know, Washington State and the U of Idaho are 7 miles apart, across a state line. WSU is about twice the size of Idaho, but they actually share some classes and bus students back and forth to attend some special classes. It's a unique relationship to have two land-grant universities so close but in in different states.
