It's Vol week for Gator fans. Florida wins again, even if Del Rio is out.

Dartmouth heads to Worcester to play Holy Cross. Go Big Green!

Wisconsin and MSU will start my day off right. Not sure who I like here, so whoever wins is fine by me. Maybe Penn State can sneak up and steal one from Michigan.

It's possible Mike. Getting a win in the Big House, though, is no small feat.

Michigan allowed more points than I think was expected to Colorado. No disrespect intended but it should have been another blowout. Falling 2 scores behind was shocking in a way.

Jabrill Peppers continues to amaze. Getting player of the week for Special Teams and Defense. Get on with your bad self young man!

As an Ohio kid, I'm a Big Ten partisan. As a Seattle resident for more than half my life and with two degrees from that school, I'm a UW partisan. This is a good week. I would like to see Ohio State meed Washington for the national championship, but I'm also aware that Ohio State might make it there. Washington - not so much. We will see what they are made of up to a point when they play Arizona this week,

Yale's team got the slobbers knocked out of them by Colgate. They play Cornell next week. They were also the first team to lose to Columbia for a long time. Oh, well. The only game that matters is The Game against Harvard.

Even after all these years, I still can't say the M word without wincing.

One last thing - I didn't jump the gun this week, but I was napping.

I do, too. You are, as usual, more confident than I am. Here's how I break it down: Appleby's going to have a tough time, especially since Callaway still may not play this week. The running game should be fine, but is the UF line good enough to power us to victory on the ground?
On D, the secondary should be very effective against Dobbs. But can the D sufficiently limit his running? And can it create enough turnovers to give the offense some badly needed short fields? This may come down to Piniero having to hit some big, long FGs.

Great points Greg. My confidence partially stems from the fact that this is the Vols. They lose to the Gators.

Other than that, I think McElwain is settling in with his guys and he'll have them ready with Appleby. It's early, but this team feels different to me in how they play.

Dobbs doesn't scare me, but Hurd does a little and he hasn't been all that great so far this year anyway. Dobbs will make mistakes.

I'm beginning to get a little antsy to see what Washington will do now that the powderpuff league games are over. Nobody knows what kind of team Washington has yet, not even Washington. I'm well trained, though. Being through the Husky collapses of the last decade and being a Mariners fan makes for some paranoia. If the Huskies beat Arizona convincingly, then I'll finally concede that they might have a chance against Stanford, and then finally a chance to beat Oregon after 12 failures.

I'm waiting to see if they are for real, as well. So far there's media hype but no real evidence.

Cougs have a bye this week and then play Oregon on the 1st. We also need to prove that we're for real. I'll be there!

I'll be rooting for the Cougs all the way against Oregon. Soften 'em up for the Dawgs! Actually, any time a team from Washington beats Oregon, it's a good day, no matter what.

I would like to see Penn State regain some of its stature. The whole point of bringing Penn State and Nebraska into the Big Ten was to make it something other than the Big Two and Little Eight. Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Iowa are doing a pretty convincing job of making that less of an issue. But if Nebraska and Penn State are powerhouses, it's good for the Big Ten.

Completely agree. It's a lot more fun when the games mean something in the conference. The only part of the college game I dislike is the massive blowouts. Having said that I don't think Penn is expected or can reasonably expect to win the game. They aren't quite there yet, but if they can at least make the cover, it will still be a victory, of sorts. A few more recruiting seasons and I bet they are in the mix.

Wisconsin is running a gauntlet this year. If they win most of their games, it's got to put them into serious consideration - Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Nebraska. I think Iowa, too, and Iowa could be back to being ranked by the time they play Wisconsin.

Wisconsin put it on Mich St

I've been saying for awhile now that I think Wisconsin can catch teams if they take them lightly. I sure hope Michigan was watching because they are next and there is history :) Will be a fun one to watch.
