NCAA Football 2016 Week 4

Dang you Florida Gators. You ruined my Saturday.
I watched the first 25 minutes at home, Florida was up 21-3 and in control.
I listened to the first couple drives of the second half in the car while driving. I kept telling my wife 'if they keep playing like they're winning, they're gonna lose'. Once we got where we were going, I switched to checking my phone for updates. Every time I checked, Tennessee scored again.
Ugh, so irritating. I'm not even going to watch highlights. I'm pretty sure I'm pissed at McElwain too.

On D, the secondary should be very effective against Dobbs. But can the D sufficiently limit his running? And can it create enough turnovers to give the offense some badly needed short fields? This may come down to Piniero having to hit some big, long FGs.

Well, I was totally wrong on this--first in a good way, as Appleby and Callaway had a huge first half and the D was on fire--and then in a bad way, as UF suddenly could not move the ball and couldn't stop the Vols. Seriously disappointing.

At least I wasn't home to watch that. I probably would have thrown my TV on the floor. Although the people we were with asked me a few times why I seemed upset. My wife told them why.
I even had to text @GregC to confirm what I was seeing in online updates.

Yep, and I predict that the bleeding is only starting. Time to actually think about the D for a few years, and also to play the same QB for at least 3 years in a row, in the time honored Pac 12 tradition, where getting even two good years in a row out of that position is a real bonus.

The Huskies nearly blew it in the desert, but somehow wriggled off the hook. Arizona's quarterback would do just fine on one of those lightening strike Oregon teams. I'm relieved he didn't sink Washington all by himself, although he came very close. So much for the hype. On to face Stanford, who got by UCLA. The Pac-12 is going to cannibalize itself this year from the looks of things.

Since mostly everyone in the PAC-12 dislikes Oregon (with the dawgz not far behind) there is much rejoicing about Oregon's loss. At least Washington is building back up, so there's reason to at least nod affirmatively in their direction (Gaolee, that's a nod to you, and it doesn't come easy.)

Next week: Oregon in Pullman vs. the Cougs! There's only one team the Cougs would rather beat, so GO, COUGS!!

Why, thank you! I didn't know UW was the evil empire. I thought that was reserved for USC. There were plenty of reasons to dislike Washington under Neuheisel and Sarkesian. I thought Willingham was going to clean up the mess and turn things around. Boy was I wrong! It looks like Peterson is as clean and as dedicated to making sure the players also do their homework as Willingham was reputed to be, but he also seems like he can coach and recruit. Then the Dawgs can be detested, at least in the North.

Now, when it comes to Cougs vs. Dawgs, there's no doubt the Cougs detest the Dawgs and the Dawgs detest the Cougs. That's the natural order of things, at least for one week every year.
