Do we have a thread yet? We do now if we didn't. This is the first week of real college football, namely Ivy League football. Other than that, UW gets a patsy, and I'll probably take a nap for that one. Ohio State - Oklahoma will be a good one. No Uwe Von Schaumann this time, though. More like last season. I hope. I have a bet with an old college friend who lives in Oklahoma City on that game. Scotch if I win, gin if he wins. (He doesn't know it but I'll send him the most obnoxious looking jar of white lightenin' I can find before the official gin if Oklahoma wins.)

Hey @Gaolee, I think you should be our guy to start the thread each week.
Big Green football is another week out yet.

Florida plays Northern Colorado. I think the Gators will lose. McElwain doesn't have it.

-Mike

McElwain is a pretty good "Ole Ball Coach" and I wouldn't count him out. Ever.

WSU plays Boise State and hopefully scores Win #2 on their way to a 4-0 start!

Colorado State welcomes Abilene Christian and I'll be in the stands with an Old Aggie beer crafted by New Belgium. Enjoy it this week boys, because next week you're headed to AAAL-A-bama.

And I am obliged by the culture of my people to remind all youze gize that Keith Jackson is a Washington State Cougar!! Go, COUGS!

The team I'm really watching this year is Penn State I thought last year was a fluke but that coaching staff has these kids jacked up and ready to play. If Notre Dame gets blown out by Georgia this week Brian Kelly might want to reach out to his Real Estate agent.

I was born around the corner from State College in a Penn State family.
I can't get myself to support the team yet.

-Mike
My son graduated from USC, and he got a great education. USC is still the evil empire as far as I'm concerned. I was born in Boston, and I don't like the Patriots or the Red Socks. So, your aversion makes perfect sense for a whole lot of reasons. It's not just the Sandusky hangover.

In the natural order of things, Ohio State would always beat that school up north, Washington would always win the Rose Bowl, and Yale would always beat Harvard. We live in an unnatural world, since none of those things happens that much.

With all the teams changing conferences the last few years, I see that the BIG 12 Conference now has 10 teams and the BIG Ten Conference now has 14 teams. Their conference names no longer reflect the number of teams.

Trust me, Colorado State would gladly join the Big 12 and help to remedy that.

Amen. In the PAC-12, U$C is commonly spelled as I just did.

No, for me that is the only reason.
Our family has ties to the football program, so this is very, very personal for me.
