That process is going to last a lot longer than it should. Just ask Colorado, Washington, and the Baltimore Ravens. In case you are having trouble connecting the dots, those are all spots Neuheisel formerly coached. At Baltimore, he was the QB coach.

As much as I hate to say it, I think Bama will lose one. Probably vs. Florida in the SEC championship, which I predicted (and got laughed at then) in Week 2 or 3. If they win out, no question they should be in the BCS title game.

BTW, Tennessee sucks this year, talented or not.

Save your breath, I tried too. We went into Neyland and won, but it was about the same as going into UCLA and winning, just with more people at Neyland. By the end of the season, I think a win over Tennessee will actually hurt our BCS ranking more than help it. I wish we would have played Bama instead this season.

Bama could easily lose to LSU of Florida/Georgia in the SEC championship. Just comes with the territory I think. But polsters just have a habit of ranking people high when they score a lot of points, even if it's on a nobody team. They don't do very well ranking teams with strong, conventional offenses and stout defenses because they can't seem to judge it right. It's why people are suspecting Florida will beat Georgia (even though Florida has been sketchy on defense) and that Florida will beat Bama (even though Bama has a great defense and solid offense). I can see Bama scoring 35 plus points on Florida however if they need to. I don't know that Florida can do that on Bama. People are just mesmorized that they scored 60+ on Kentucky, which shouldn't be a surprise considering that Kentucky just can't keep up with the spread offense. Florida won't do that with Bama. They've had a hard time scoring like that on teams with great a great secondary and roving line backers. Bama's linebackers and DL will contain their running game, severly limiting their scoring potential. I'm anxious and concerned about it, but concluding that Florida will beat Bama is a little too presumptious IMO. Reminds me of the 92 season when we were expected to lose to Spurrier's spread in the SEC game, and then to Miami's powerhouse offense in the championship. Didn't happen.

Tennessee's OFFENSE sucks! Their defense has been impressive. We still scored 29 points on them without feeling pushed into having to score. We could have scored more.

I think Texas is more likely to lose a game than Bama is. I hate that Penn State doesn't have at least one more chance to beat a big team. I'm sure USC is hating themselves right now for their loss as they'd be number 1 otherwise, and we'd have a very sticky situation on our hands. But if Oregon State can beat USC, then Penn State could lose one of their remaining games. There are still a lot of scenarios that could put two 1-loss teams in Miami. Could be Florida/Georgia/Bama vs. USC/Oklahoma/OK State/Texas Tech/Texas. Just crazy.

Also, Florida could get beat by Florida State. They'd still make it to the SEC game if they beat Georgia, where they could in turn beat Bama. But a two loss Gator team wouldn't play for the NC this year, so it could change things up even worse. Florida State could pull an upset...watch out!

My friends tried to tell me last night that a UF NC game was completely out of the question, but then again they are Big 10 and Big 12 fanboys. I think if FSU keeps on rising in the ranks, UF beats UGA, then Alabama in the SEC championship... And close it out with a win against a decently ranked FSU, then we might have a chance. :)

Totally possible! You have to remember that all these high ranking Big 12 teams didn't face each other until the end of the season. They could all start knocking each other off, and with the so-so defense they seem to play, they could beat each other very badly making it look even more bizarre. Anything is still possible. Right now, you have three teams in the driver seat. Bama, Texas, and Texas Tech. If Tech can win decisively for the rest of the season, they'll leap Penn State pretty easily. It's just a shame PSU doesn't have a schedule that allows them to display what they might be capable of. I really hate it for those guys. A +1 system would make this all better.

Great. I hope the Huskies don't get too fired up to win one for the coach vs. USC this Saturday.

A couple of kids from the high school two blocks away, Ronnie Fouch and Chris Polk, signed on at WU because of Willingham. I'll be ineterested to see if they hang around. Hey, they've got a shot at taking th (road) Apple Cup.

USC will be fine. U-Dub can't beat anyone.

I listened to an interview on our local sports radio station with Fouch just a few minutes after the announcement was made. He sounded really shook up. He said like four times that he only came to U-Dub to play for Tyrone. Poor kid.

I think the biggest problem for the Bruins is that the coaching staff with Norm Chow who is a great offensive coordinator had to start off with the loss of both our starting quarterbacks to injuries before the season even started and we are a little short on talent. You have to have good players to succeed as a coach.

yeah, washington can't even beat an egg this season. :hmm:

realistically, i think that usc had the best chance of losing a second game to arizona, and that didn't happen. they have yet to play washington, california, stanford, notre dame, and ucla.

yeah, none of those teams really have it together this season. :hmm:

still, a one-loss trojans team is headed to the rose bowl if a) texas and penn state remain undefeated, b) texas loses once but wins the big 12; penn state remains undefeated, c) oklahoma somehow wins the big 12; penn state remains undefeated, d) replace "no-loss penn state" with "one or no loss SEC champ" alabama, florida, or georgia. if penn state, texas, and alabama all lose a game (but, say, not the championships for texas and bammer), then usc might slip in. but their strength of schedule is going to take a nose dive with the remaining games of the season.

No offense, Brad, but that paragraph gave me a headache. Another argument for a playoff system.:D

I agree, to a point. The Bruins would be infinitely better with Cowan playing at QB, not so sure about Olson. Their bigger problem is their o-line and complete lack of a running game.

Give the Bruins two years, and they'll be contending with SC again.
