Indeed, a perfect storm will have to occur for USC to make the BCS championship. If they don't, I hope Penn State goes to the BCS so we can have a quality at-large replacement in the Rose Bowl.

While I want Bama in Miami, I would LOVE the chance to come out there and face USC. It would be a great game, and probably be more exciting for most than the NC game itself.

otoh, while ohio state was reppin' the big 10 in the national championship last season, the "quality" opponent in the rose bowl was illinois.

my guess is that if penn state goes to the national championship and usc doesn't, you can look forward to trying to break the century mark over ohio state.

If that scenario happens, Brad, I'd rather see Oregon State take conference and then have USC play a Big 12 team in the Holiday Bowl.
