So I've been looking to upgrade my cab for some while now. My previous cab was a Peavy tfx 410 350 watt at 4 ohm. Which I thought was a decent enough cab especially what I paid for it(150$ off Craigslist about a year and a half ago). Real problem with the cab was that the head I'm running (Hartke 3500) is simply just to much power for it and I couldn't even really start to see what the 3500 could do with out the cab farting out. Was looking for deals on a new cab and saw the local GC had a Genz Benz Uber 410 in their shop and decided to drive the 40 mins and see how it sounded. Boy am I glad that I did. Ended up trading in the Peavy toward the GB cab and got 180$ credit so I'm counting that purchase as a win. The GB cab sounds amazing!!! In the shop I played a squire p through a mark bass 800 watt head and it sold me on the cab almost instantly. I got it home and of course wanted to see how it got along with the Hartke 3500 and all I can say is wow! It's like watching black and white tv your whole life then seeing a color TV set.
So much more present and articulate. The low end on this cab is beautiful for lack of better words. Plenty of booty with lazer focused tightness and can handle every bit the Hartke can dish out, without breaking a sweat. Now that I've updated my cab to the 21st century next it's time for a new amp head. I've been drooling over the Mesa Subway 800 for awhile now and my birthday is coming up.......
