NCD: Darkglass DG212N

How's it sound? Thinking about one of these for my Mesa WA head.
They're very defined throughout the low mids and mids. Loud is an understatement especially when you have two cabs. I have a pair of 212s and I've put various heads on them and all sound great, the horn cross over adjustability is extremely handy and I don't think people use it enough when dialing in tones.
You say you have a walkabout, I don't have any experience with that head but my favorite amp to pair with the DG cabs so far has been a Handbox R400 which others have said is like a Walkabout on steroids.

Life has been busy, so I haven't had much bass time at all recently. As luck would have it, though here is a fresh comparison of all 4 neo cabs:

This video confirmed why I like the DG212N so much. I could see people calling the 10's cabinets "sterile" (I actually like the 210 more than the 410 in the video) while the 12's just have those great mids and such a great full bodied sound.

VIDEO SPOILER:

He chose the 212 at the end.

He choose the 212 because he have a 410 Ampeg and wanted something smaller.

I am planning on buying 2 of the DG212Ns. The main reason I want two, is because I can never hear an amp if it is below a certain height. I play through 2 Ampeg PN 4x10s. I could probably not even tell if the bottom one was unplugged.
My question is, how would I be with a 2x12 and add just a 1x12 on top for the extra height.
Anyone try a 2x12 and a 1x12 together?

I am using Darkglass Alpha Omega 900.

Just ditched my Hartke 810xL after almost falling down the stairs for a DG212.

No going back, as this cab is loud, punchy and just all around amazing.

Nice and light and not so wide like a 410 to navigate steps and narrow doorways.

It pairs nicely with my Tech21 and Hartke heads.

Hi,
I was wondering if you bought your Darkglass 112 to add it to your 212?
I had 2 x 212 Darglass cab for the same reason, have the sound on all my body, but it was too much for my use (I have an EBS TD650 as amp).
So I'm looking for a smaller config as a 212 + 112.
If you did it or anyone here try this config, I'll be curious of the feed back
Thank you

I’m looking to add a 112 Darkglass to my setup as well.

I can guarantee it will sound amazing, just make sure the head goes down to 2.67 ohms.

I recently bought a DG112N for small to medium size venues and it is here to stay. I love this cab and if my Berg CN212 stops working, I’ll be getting a DG212N without hesitation. 😎
How do you like the Berg compare to the Darkglass ?

I sold my DG210n for a Berg NXT212. Amazing cab. The Darkglass 212 sound insane in the QCortex, was recorded by Nolly too aha

Those Darkglass cabs have a tighter low end or less low end extension but the midrange is so nice

I cannot really compare since the Darglass is 1x12 versus 2x12 for the Berg, but I can say that the Darkglass sounds pretty good and has a much tighter sound but again there are so many factors that are contributing for this. Like I said, the Berg will stay in the rotation until it cannot anymore. Will the DG212N be the one, to be seen. But if it is any close to the 1x12, chances are it will be.

I use an amp stand that tilts it back so it aims at my ears...works great (you can adjust the tilt)

I'm looking for a 2x12 cab and I'm divided between the DG212N and the Mesaboogie Subway Ultra Lite 2x12.

Has anyone compared these two cabs? I'm more inclined to get the Darkglass because it's lighter and cheaper but nevertheless I'd like some input from anyone that have tried both cabs.

Added a Bergantino HP2X head and ditched my Hartke head.

Holy cow does the cabinet come to life.
