Neck Depth

I'm building a 4 string fretted bass and had a question. What depth do you cut your necks at? Without the FB attached from the top where you will glue the FB to Bottom of the neck. Mind you the round has not been spokeshaved at this point. Total uncarved depth of the neck from the nut to where the neck meets the body. Any takers??

I start with a 3/4" blank usually. I take the thickness to 5/8" - 7/16" at the nut and it tapers to the full 3/4" at the body joint.
