A simple cure is putting the bridge button higher, somewhere in the middle of the curve between the bridge and the top of the bass.

The Klondyke padded (single) strap I used has better traction over the shoulder and holds the bass better and does a more comfortable job.

does this strap grip well? i have en epiphone thunderbird bass, which is very top heavy and i need a strap with grips onto my shoulder so i dont need to support the neck with my hand, which makes it much harder to play!

Neck dive - a way to solve... .

I found a good way to solve neck dive - many years (decades) ago!

So - I always try out basses with a strap before I buy and always buy basses without neck dive!

Ha! I gigged with a Thunderbird as a kid, I can smell neck dive! Even the bludgeoning weapon known as a Peavey T40, which I switched to, was easier to old up for hours.

OP's strap setup looks like what the accordion players use.
