I've never played a Euro Spector so can't really comment on that, but I had heard they were made in the same factory also. We don't have a lot of big music stores around here -- need to go into St. Louis some weekend when I have time.
I had just been looking for a 5 string J-bass to replace my old J. I saw this Dean hanging up next to an MIM and took it down and just liked the way it felt. After the initial setup I've been able to tweak it to where the action is pretty good. (The action on my LB76 is a pretty hard act to follow, so I don't expect it to be THAT good). Great feel, quiet, and lots of tonal versatility. Of course, there are THOSE (hi JL!) that think I should have gotten a Fender, but even THEY admit this is a really nice bass.
