Hi all, first post so sorry if I've posted in the wrong place or anything.
Anyway, having just sold my old bass setup (the ill-fated Yamaha BBT500H digital amp and matching 4x12) in favour of concentrating on double bass, I've foolishly gone and joined another hard rock band and need to get a new setup. BUT, as my Yamaha seemed very quiet through a lot of other cabs, let alone getting discontinued, and my amp before that just plain blew up within days of getting it (don't even get me started...) I don't have any brands I "know and love" or experience of an amp manufacturer I'd buy again.
I did use an Orange setup when gigging with a band recently, which I loved, and I gather they have the "Terror Bass" coming out soon, which looks pretty spot on for me - powerful enough, affordable and about 6 knobs so as not to confuse me! I'm thinking maybe that and their 1x15 cab until I can afford to add another cab.
But I don't want to just get some fad amp which hasn't even been properly reviewed yet, so I'm asking for any advice on what a good set up for club gigs/practice room would be for playing 80s hard rock. Thanks!
