Double Bass Need a good amp for my upright

Hey David, Can you report how you like the EA/Wizzy set up you decided on? Is it awesome, or awwwwwwesome, or did you not keep it?

I in the same boat, looking to upgrade my upright amp and am torn between the AI Coda+ and the Doubler with a Wizzy 10. I want a two channel to blend in a mic like you or to be able to gig with both my Kay upright and a Kala Ubass (I have on order).

Try the Hartke LH heads and HyDrive cabinets. They actually make a 4x10 combo with the LH-500 head, not too high in price.
I personally play through the LH-1000 head and 4x10 HyDrive cabinet. Although my rig has double the power, the sound between the 500-watt and the 1000-watt is almost identical (I've played through both). I don't think any amps sound better than Hartkes (in my opinion, of course), and they're also very low priced.

Thanks for the input rosskratter. However, those Hartke cabs look way to heavy for what I had in mind. I'm looking for a quality lightweight rig that can handle the bass sound reinforcement job for my upright and will let the warm tones and thump of aged-wood and long strings to support, and cut through when needed, an amplified mix of voices, guitars, mandolin, fiddle, percussion, and banjo for my Bluegrass/Americana gigs.

I was looking for specific feed back on the EA doubler and Wizzy 10 for Double Bass, after this long thread of options, I was curious if the originator was satisfied with the final decision.
