Need a new string idea, DR Hi-Beams are too bright

My Warwick Corvette is currently strung with DR Hi-Beams, 105-45. But they're a little too bright, and I'm not sure how into them I am. They're great strings, but maybe a little too harsh for the way I have my EQ set up, and I don't want to change anything with that at this point.

Anyway, can anyone suggest me some strings that will be bright, but not AS bright as DR Hi-Beams? I've tried DR Lo-Riders (the stainless steel ones since I think they also make nickel ones... I think) and I didn't care for them.

I was thinking about just getting Ernie Ball strings, but I would prefer stainless steel.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The best strings I've ever heard on a Warwick Corvette was TI Jazz Rounds if you can believe that. They are expensive, but they work so well with that bass IMO.

I'm interested in Sunbeams. I always thought they were brighter than Hi-Beams though, although I've never tried them. Unfortunately my Guitar Center doesn't carry them, which is quite lame.

Anyway, any other ideas? The only strings that have been on my Warwick have been the Warwick Black Labels, 40-100 Hi-Beams, and 45-105 Hi-Beams.

Hi, I went from the Warwick strings--just too tinny and hairy for me--to Highbeams (which I use on my other basses) and finally, for the last two years, to DR Sunbeams on my Corvette Standard 5. I find the Sunbeams, with their Nickel finish, have a rich darkness and smoothness that nicely offsets the Corvette's innate aggressiveness. I highly recommend the Sunbeams--they last forever too.

+1

Another vote for the nickel Sunbeams -- my favorite strings.
