Need a Pre-amp pedal to replace the E.Q. on my amp

I tested it out and i think the power amp inside might be clipping. If i purchased a cab to put underneath to extend the amp do you think that would help?

What wattage is the amp running now and can you still go lower? From 8 to 4 or from 4 to 2 for example? Lower impedance equals more output in most cases.

I, however, should avoid bigger practical problems if the amp isn't just perfect. More cabbage = bigger, more weight, expensive,...
