Tonight Looks Good on you - Jason Aldean. The live version. You can get a really good slow groove with the drums, and play some melodic lines. VERY under-rated. If you have both male and female lead vocals, Need You Now by Lady Antebellum - boring bass line, but nice song.

Several years ago I was playing with some guys that had a similar attitude. They refused to play several popular (although overplayed and boring) songs even when they were requested. They are still playing $200 gigs.

I agree with you 100%. I'll play Brown Eyed Girl to a dance floor full of people ANYTIME over something that I might like that gets no crowd response.

Good crowd reaction = an active crowd = more drinks purchased = happy owner = repeat gigs. That's our formula. It's also the reason I don't light my bass on fire everytime our guitarist wants to play 500 Miles! Now that song blows but people like it for some reason.

I am trying to think how this is even possible, not the likeee part (it's a great song), but it is (or at least was) everywhere!



(Edit: it is quite possible that Ed Sheeran is not as overplayed in the US as he is in Europe)
