Need a suggestion for a 4th pedal on my mini-board!

I'm heading up to Ikea today to get a lil' Gorm thinggy to make a small pedal board. I made a big Gorm board last year, but i don't really need all 20ish pedals for any of my bands, live.

So, right now it's gonna be:

-Boss Tuner (TU-2)
-Bluebeard Fuzz
-Boss Bass Chorus (CEB-3)
-???


I was thinking an overdrive, but i don't think i need it... also thinking about my Bass Muff and using it in Dry mode as a super subtle fuzz...

This is for a garage indie-pop band. So it's a pretty fuzzy-buzzy sound, which is why i'm thinking dirt... but if anyone thinks anything else might make a good choice, i'm all ears! :D

I honestly haven't come across a chorus in the $100 and under range that has performed as well as the CEB-3... i've heard that the boss chorus ensamble is good... but i haven't seen one in a while... but i'm open to suggestions...

The flange is a good option... i love my BF-2.


I do NOT want an octaver... octaves and me are not on good terms... over the past three years i have owned the OC-2, OC-3, Micro POG, and an EBS Octabass.... i haven't liked any of them :/

Honestly, the best octave i have found is the lame lil' octave setting on my BSW.

I have a BF-3, but I'm going to upgrade to probably a Hartman or ToadWorks. If you're sticking to the $100ish price range then use the BF-2. I'm just not a big fan of Boss except for the TU-3. Sell some of your other effects that you don't use too often and go for an Analogman chorus with the deep mod. Personally, I'd go with the Fromel Seraph. You get what you pay for...

Well, it's a toss-up between my BF-2 (my 'eh, why not' choice) and ODB-3 (synthy OD and/or volume booster/light OD).

Again... no octaver!

To the dudes reccomending an upgrade... i also have bad (2nd hand) experience with that. I play LOTS of venues, and some are quite a bit more seedy than others. I'm not gonna roll in with $200 pedals and risk someone walking off with one just for a liiiiitle bit better sound.

If it's between those two pedals, definately go with the BF-2. I had the ODB-3 and thought very lowly of it...not what I was looking for in an overdrive at all. If you want, check out the classifieds. I have a GT2 for sale and that will definately cover your OD section given your price range.

I actually LOVE the ODB-3. I think it's a criminally underrated pedal and i think a vast majority of people don't use it to the best of it's ability. I see young bassists all the time crank everything all the way to the right and it's incoherent killer bees. I keep the blend on mostly dry and keep the gain at around 8 or 9 o'clock and it's awesome for a subtle OD or, more often, a volume booster.

I have a modded bad monkey if i want tubey OD tones, but that's not really what i want/need.
