Need advice on a new setup

Hey guys, i'm new to TB and I need some help. So here it is

My main bass right now is a 5 string Ibanez BTB, which I run through a GK brat pack half stack. I play in a progressive death metal band that tunes in drop B flat, half step up from standard drop A.

The problem is, we're are starting to play bigger shows and my guitarists are starting to get louder setups themselves. They both use Peaveys, but one uses a 5150 while the other uses a XXX and i don't think it'll be long until they both have full stacks.

I am looking for a larger cab around 810 or so, but I have been limited to amps I've been able to test out. I'm looking for something that will give me a warm rounded tone, but i also want diversity. I will mainly use it for death metal, although i also play jazz and various other types of music.

If you guys could help me out, it would be much appreciated.

well an ampeg 810 is pretty much the metal standard for a good reason. sucks to lug it around but its a great cab. Also if you can find one Mesa/Boogie made a 2x15 in the early 90's that was basically built into a road case... also a great cab. As far as heads $250 can get you a hartke 2500 which is really loud for the cost and can drive an 810 allllllll day. good tone for metal.

You know when you listen to really detuned metal bands, and the bass is all clinky clunk and no actual bass? That is because of using Ampeg 8x10s. Modern cabs can actually do lows, and mean you can have a space below the guitars, rather than just being another one. I'd look at some of the 15+6 sub and mid driver jobs, such as Fearfuls, Lowdown sound and Barefaced, and score yourself some underexploited sonic territory, they'll do all the clinky clunk of an 8x10 without the weight too. I really like the Aguilar GS412 but is starts to be lacking in the high mids and highs if you like them.

It will depend on your budget, but a 6x10 cab and a good powerful amp will do everything you need. I personally use a GK 2001RB thru an SWR Goliath Sr and I can get any sound I want. If you try to go too cheap, you may get plenty of "loud" but your tone will sound like mud. My opinion only. Even a GK 1001 RB II into a 4ohm cab gives you 700w. Unless you are playing Giants Stadium, most likely, this will be sufficient.

well, my budget is pretty low. that's why i am considering an ampeg 810, because i can find them for around 300$
