I am currently using a Line 6 XT pedal board at my church. We are going to be replacing this with a peice of new equipment. Can you give you ideas on what would be best to replace this with? I'm not using a lot of the effects features but mostly set it and use the volume control. Thanks for any help.

Need advice on floor pedal board

looking for another multi effect board. or a bass head that will come out clean without noise through our system, then I could just add a volume pedal. We had a Peavy head but it hissed so bad we couldn't use it. We tried all kinds of DI's and nothing cleared it up. You can't even tell this Line 6 Bass Pod has been turned on and we have it plugged straight to our system without a DI.
Go with an active DI that has a gain/output knob. Adjust to taste. If you want to get effects out of the unit as well, Boss GT-10B works well and has a lot of great sounding effects.
Hmmm....who runs the mixer board and do they really know what they're doing? I hate to see you drop major coin on a new interface (DI, amp, whatever) only to find your woes stem from operator error and/or mis-application. FTR, any time I hear the term "hiss", I immediately think of flaws in gain structure and that can be an easy fix in the right hands.

I think that if you have money enough, as it looks, one of the best solutions is EBS Microbass II. Very, very good.

If you run a passive bass with a passive DI and a long run, say over 50' to the mixing board, you will get a volume loss and probably a thin sound. However there still should be more signal than you get out of a typical dynamic mic. So I think you need to talk to your soundman.
Why do you need the signal boosted? Isn't there a mixer for FOH sound with faders and gain controls that can do this?
If you don't need any effects, a quality DI is your best option. There is no point in getting a mutli FX unit if you're not going to use the effects.
If a DI doesn't work for you, I'm thinking there is more going or something wrong with the rest of the setup.

When we had my bass plugged into just a DI it wouldn't push enough signal to keep from having to push the gain way up on the board. (I'm not running through any type of amp head)(straight from bass to the Line 6 bass pod to the main mixer) The run from my bass to the mixer is about 150'. I use a Peavy 5 string Grind with passive pickups.
Using the Bass Pod is great and everything works fine through it but it's not my equipment or the church's and our church wants to purchase the equipment that all our instruments plug into. That way if someone leaves, whoever replaces them will just have to plug in their instrument and their ready.
