Double Bass Need Advice - Pop Cover - Bluegrass Style!

Iron Horse is great. I like their song selection & arrangements. There are others that dabbled in pop covers many years earlier that should be given some credit. One band that comes to mind is the Austin Lounge Lizards. They formed sometime around 1980, and really aren't as pure bluegrass sounding as Iron Horse, but they started odd, quirky originals & bluegrass covers 20 years prior to the formation of IH. There are a few others that date back even further than The Lizards.

Here's one of their more recent covers of a significantly older pop tune.

Reviving this thread, with quasi-hijack to include classic country as well as grass.

I've been having fun this week re-phrasing The Scorpions' 'Still Loving You' as a country tune. I find that the lyrics work really well, and I've found that the 're-phrasing' seems oddly natural.

I'm interested to hear abut other other conversions that seem like a stretch on paper, but that you've found to be kind of natural fit. Thanks!
