Need alternative SS string for DR Hi-Beams

Hi, I need alternative stainless strings recomendation.
I usually take D'Addario EXL-170 but it not long lasting cause
My hand sweating alot so usually D or G string broke up after 5-6 weeks use.

After that I move to SS strings, I love DR Hi-Beam 45-105 but it is harder to find compare to NPS strings, I need alternative strings that has feel and sound like Hi-Beam. I've try Dunlop Super Bright SS too recently, but it feel rougher and not as bright compare to Hi-Beam.

I like piano like pianoist and zingy strings.
I also need recomendation gauges for Sire V7 5 strings.

Nothing came close to hi beam unique character which has Zingy bright Hi , some scoop mid but lacking lo rider Low end.
The most piano like bass string to me is DR Lo Rider SS.

For your V7, I recommend Sadowsky blk SS 40-125T or 45-130T. But they dint have Hi beam smooth roller string wrap feel on hand. Hopehelp.

Mas Adit, You do aware Melodia is the dealer for DR Strings in Indonesia, right? If Melodia Yogya doesn't carry the Hi-Beams, you can always buy online. Melodia (Jakarta) has a web page and also a Toped page where you could buy from them during this Covid-19 self isolation time. I had a conversation with them right before the Covid-19 self isolation time in our country started, they still had some Hi-Beams in stock.

Another alternative which is also available in Indonesia is the Elixir Nanoweb SS.

IME, Elixir Nanoweb coating really works. I still have a bass with Elixir Nanoweb strings from 2015 which tone hasn't changed to my ears. Although, mine aren't the SS Nano, but NPS Nano instead.

The Nanoweb coating also makes the strings sleeker, which probably would feel smoother than DR's. So, these shouldn't feel rough as you said Dunlop SB SS were. Although I must admit I haven't tried Elixir Nano SS, cause the winding length is only 36.5", which isn't long enough for the bass I usually put SS strings on (a 35" Ibanez BTB). But, it should be adequate for Sire V7 (34" top loading bridge).

You should try the D'Addario ProSteels.

I 2nd the D'Addario ProSteels. Less expensive than DR strings. And longer lasting for me. I love em. I still use DR High and Fat beams on occasion. Great strings. But my basses, and ears, really seem to prefer the ProSteels.

He wants strings that aren't rougher than Hi Beams so you can count ProSteels out.

Elixir wouldn't be a great choice either. They might be 'SS' but they have a coating which dulls the brightness. Hard to get the 'piano' tone out of Elixirs.

If you can find them, DR Fat Beams are a good alternative, has are DR Pure Blues which should be a little smoother than Hi Beams.

Another option is Warwick Black Label Steels which are quite similar to Hi Beams. But again, these might be hard to find.

Gauges I would recommend 45-130.

Hmm...I heard that SIT also have Foundation Stainlesssteel series, how if compare it to Hi-Beams & ProSteel?

For Elixir it's too expensive for me.
But it is great coated strings that has loooong lifetime.

SIT Foundations I think you would like. I found them to be similar to Dunlop SBs but more focused if that's the right word. Definitely more bright fresh on.

I would not try ProSteels, I think you'll find them too rough.

I find Hi Beams to be way higher quality feel and sound than ProSteels. But thats just me.
