need better, correct fitting bridge for Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jazz V

hello all, and thanks for your comments.

I have a 2015 Jazz V, as noted in the title. I removed the stock bridge and replaced it with the Fender "BA-II" copy as pictured here: Link Removed

At the same time, I also bought and installed the Fender "American Series" Jazz pickups (004-8735-000 and 004-8736-000).

I measured and thought I was getting the right bridge, installed it, but the string width is too wide for the pickups. The B string sits nicely between the pole pieces of the bridge pickup, but by the time you get over to the G string, the string is over the outer pole piece, and is also much too close to the edge of the fretboard.

It almost seems like I got the version of the bridge that has 78mm spacing instead of 72mm spacing, but I know I ordered the "correct" 72 mm part number.

Can anyone recommend a bridge that fits both the pickup pole piece spacing and the neck width correctly? I don't want to put the stock bridge back on.

It seems you've got the wrong version. Check the measurements : the #099-4410-000 is the 72 mm (narrow) spacing version with brass saddles (string spacing = 18mm), whilst the 099-4409-000 is the 78 mm (wide) spacing version with zinc saddles (string spacing is 19 mm, namely for Fender Dimension basses).

#099-4410-000 description :
Genuine Fender 5-string block logo, high-mass, bass bridge. Chrom
g spacing); 0.700" (17.8mm) Mount to Mount. 2-7/8" string spacing and 4-screw hole mounting pattern.

Would you tell me if the individual hole spacing (4 holes) on your bridge matches the spacing on the Squier (the 4 holes in the center out of 6 holes) ?

Planned upgrades : CTS pots, Orange Drop cap, Switchcraft jack, 5-string retainer bar (improves the B-string), new bridge (Hipshot KickAss or Fender HiMass).

Hi! I have the "narrow" version installed and it's still too wide. The mounting holes matched perfectly when I installed the bridge.

Why have you replaced the factory Squier pickups? What kind of difference with the AS PUs have you heard ? On my Jazz above, pickups are 'Duncan Designed', OEM.

Yes, this is the route I'm starting to think of taking. The little brass inserts apparently have some lateral adjustment which will allow me to fine tune the spacing to the pole pieces and the neck itself.

Thank you very much, as I was very close to make a mistake getting the Fender Hi-Mass bridge (narrow version).
I will now rather go the KickAss way. :)

I have considered alternate bridges like an Hipshot Style A 5A500 18mm (.708) and a Sandberg 5B5C (that I already have on my SIRE Marcus Miller V7-5). Both need drilling new mounting holes.
The Sandberg bridge can be easily found in Europe and is not expensive for the quality (solid brass): Invalid Link Removed
