Need Help Church/Worship DI & Mic'd Cab

Need some help and/or advice.

My church has given me 2 channels for my bass. 1. Avalon U5 DI, 2. Ampeg SVT VR with SM57 on 810e cab.

The goal is to blend the 2 channels to get the best of both worlds.

I need the DI line to just be bass into DI. I will run my pedal board ( TU-3, overdrive, reverb, ect ) through the SVT/Cab line.

Ok, the table is set. Now, since I know nothing about this.... What's the best way I can split the signal and still be muted on both channels when I tune.

Any special equipment I need?

Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just made sure my volume pedal was behind my tuner, but in front of my DI. In my case, my first pedal is a compressor, then the Zoom B3 (which is also my tuner) into the volume pedal -----> rest of my effects board. I kick the volume pedal back muting everything in front of it, but still allowing me to tune. You can run the 1/4 out from your volume pedal into a DI box on the floor, and the 1/4 through output back into your board. It is a little awkward to setup, but this way you wouldn't need a splitter.

Also, props for getting to use an SVT and 8x10 on a church stage. We run DI only. Our room is poorly configured for live amps on stage.

Wow... 2 channels for the bass... AND an SVT Fridge as the house rig?

That's some kind of church gig you've got there.

And yeah, go with what csanders suggests.

And beware (or your soundman should be aware) that when you mix a DI and a mic'd bass cab, when you run the two together you will frequently get phase cancellation that will suck the low end guts out of your tone.

If you are serious about blending in this way, do what I do and use a Phazer, made by Radial, out with the sound board to put the signals into phase alignment. Here is a link to it:
