Need help creating a specific tone

I'm sorry if I come off as a total nub for asking this but I'm wondering what would be the perfect pedal/multi effect to creating a few different sounds:

Aiming for that punchy punk almost thrash sound y'know?

If it makes any difference the bass I'm using is a Ibanez GSR 200.

Ellefson usually uses a pick. I cant speak for the others. Try using a pick, and playing with your eq a bit.
