Need help finding a bass

Hey guys, I got the idea earlier today to get a bass that is beat up, but still in working condition to try and refinish. I have looked on eBay and Craigslist with no luck and most pawn shops around here dont have anything. Does anyone knoe where I could find a bass like this? I still want something that was a decent bass also. (Squire, MIM Fender, Ibanez, etc.)

Thanks,
Wes

your looking in the right places. Try garage sales, A friend of mine got a brand new gibson lp for 50$ This rich guy bought it thinking he was going to learn guitar and never did. And my friend asked him if he knew that the lp was worth way more and the guy said yeah I know im not going to use it so do you want it? He took it home I wouldnt belive him except I saw the guitar the next day. In clackamas and portland theres lots of pawn shops and they seem to have alot of cheap squires ranging from 60 to 100. I once saw a thrashed fender jazz in midnight wine for 250$
