Need help from some old amp vets! (w/ PICS!!!!)

So I'm looking for any information or input on this new (relatively speeking) bass amp I got. Basically, after careful inspection of the amp, and having played through it about 5 different times, I decided to buy this amp for 100$ CA. I was told by the previous owner that it retailed for about 350$.

Okay so I bought the amp, I like it, however, I have no sweet clue what it's specs are beyond what I can read and decipher myself. I've looked online and it's as if Delta (product company) went out of business before the internetz was invented. This is a bad sign I know. So anyways, the amp is a Delta DB-60 Mosfet Bass Amp from what I can gather. If this means anything to anyone out there then awesome, let me know.

Here are some pics of the amp to help you guys help me (keep in mind I'm no photographer, so don't mind the blurr or the lighting, it's dark and snowy down here in Canada):

Here are two whole pics:

And the second:

Thanks,

Yep, not too much out there on these amps. All I found was this link

Invalid Link Removed

to a catalog from Musicare Inc. located at 4534 Anderson Road, Ottawa, Canada where they show the model number and a selling price of 259.95 from 2003.

You might try to contact them and see if they can hook you up with a schematic in case you ever need service. I don't see any county of manufacture on the amp, but my guess would be China. It seems to be an entry level amp but has decent features. If it sounds good, no problem but if you ever need replacement parts or service, it might be tough.

Hope this hepls.

Another, certainly extremely noobish question has come up. I was playing around with the amp trying to figure out what the channels, voice and gain were about in the preamp section. Now here's the question, I'm aware of what the gain is, but what does my voice do? Secondly, why is it that I can play through either channel in either input?

My only potential answer at this point is that the channel can be used as independant presets depending on my own setup...Anyways, if anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks once again,
J

That amp has the new style, solder on to the PC board style jacks, so it's nowhere's near old at all. Somebody's pullin' your chain, if they told you it was old, to the point of collectable anyway.

What it seems you have is an amp that has one common input with two preamps that "share" a common set of tone controls. You can have two seperate settings of pre amp so you can get two different gain and voicing settings. The tones will be the same as you only have one set of EQ controls. You can switch between the two via a front panel switch or possibly with a FS plugged in. One of the uses for this might be to get a little "extra" gain on one channel for a distort or boost. Or possibly to use a passive bass on one preamp and a hotter active bass on the other. Still you only get one set of EQ controls so I'm having a hard time trying to see where they were trying to go with the dual preamps. The gain is is probably to set the input sensitivity, so there might be a "clip" LED to show you if you're driving the front end too hot. The voicing control might be just a volume control for each pre amp or a control that changes the tone somewhat. I'm not sure, just mess around with it and find out. My guess is a volume control that is "before" the master volume. If so, why they would call it "voicing" is beyond me. Again, try to give Musicare a call and see if they have an owners manual and a schematic available.

You mentioned you can play through either channel through either input. That sounds like two input jacks, but I only see one in the pictures. My guess is the two channels share a common input so they are always both active and are just switched back and fourth by the switch. You might have some bleedover between the two preamps due to the shared common input. If so it could cause both to operate together regardless of the channel switch settings.

Good luck.
