Need help getting correct d-tuner

I just bought a fender Modern player telecaster bass.
I want to get a drop D tuner for it.

I went to hipshots website and saw so many options I was overwhelmed. I even called hipshot and they told me BT1 but
I would like a second opinion since BT1 is the model for a musicman or a G&L bass.

Can anyone help please, even if hipshot is not the right company.

That is the BT1 shape, so that's the only one that would fit without drilling.

Besides, Hipshot isn't going to tell you the wrong part.

If you called Hipshot and spoke to one of their folks... they know their stuff. Whatever model they told you would fit your instrument... believe them. First rate outfit that knows what they make better than anyone on TB.

well the hipshot guy only guessed when I told him the back of the key was shaped like a coffin.

That's because there are several different tuners that are shaped that way. Send them the pick you posted here and more important accurate measurements of your tuner and they will be able to tell you more.
