Need help getting tru oil in california

I know dick sporting goods have it, or at least the one by me does.

Yeah there are gun shops here, surprisingly. lol

But there's no luck getting the tru oil even from them, at least around my area. Now, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to get a brand new bottle of tru oil from any retailer in SoCal. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

LMII was suggested previously but not acknowledged - perhaps because of the OP's fixation on Southern California - which I do not understand other than wanting a brick-and-mortar retail experience...

Maybe it's a payment issue. I'd suggest the OP at least contact LMII - clearly a niche operation that should be welcoming special inquiries - and check out a) the availability (could be the product isn't available but hasn't been removed from the website) and b) payment options. Most places won't take a check but you can walk into any Post Office with cash and buy a money order. That and a stamp will get you on your way. They'll sell you a stamp at the PO too ;-)

Yeah, I suggested it earlier, just linking directly to it in case it was over looked. I think they ship from Windsor, California if I remember right. It was out of stock, but seems to be back in stock now because I just got mine last week that was back ordered.

It likely contains some compound known to cause cancer in the state of California. I wouldn't use that stuff if I lived out there.

It's a CARB(California Air Resources Board) regulation that Birchwood Casey wouldn't fight off. They got gun shy after they lost a $500,000 in a lawsuit from CARB/BAAQMD.

Oldish thread, but for those who need it, Tru-Oil isn't a magic substance that BC came up with. It's an oil based wipe on varnish, and you can get similar results from "tung oil finish" (not pure tung oil, but a varnish made with it) as sold by Minwax and others
