Need help on choosing a chorus pedal

I've had many, many choruses over the years. The most lush have been made by either Analogman or Jam Pedals to my ears.

I briefly had a JAM Waterfall (bass version), which is the only chorus pedal I've ever owned, and sold it, perhaps prematurely. I thought the sound was gorgeous but, while playing, the regular, rhythmic pulse of it (of any chorus, I think) got to me. Maybe it wouldn't have, after awhile, but just the fact that it was predictable and I knew when it was coming bugged me -- maybe something like a chorus but slightly irregular, somehow, or subtly responsive to playing input would be cool, but, as a lightweight and infrequent effect-or, I might be getting in over my head, there. Maybe I just need to give chorus (and/or other modulation effects) another try and/or set it more subtly or use it in context with a band.

The demos I've heard of JAM stuff (at the risk of going OT) have been pretty impressive sounding -- Zach Rizer has good ones of their Lucy Dreamer overdrive and Delay Llama Extreme up on Youtube.

Yup, that works....lol....more to my point was that it wasn't "chrous",on the recording, but some chorus effects can get similar tones. Thank you for the correction though!!!

So i'm working on a post punk project and I really like the sound of the bass with a chorus pedal on. Im looking for a tone like Peter Hook(Joy Division) or Simon Gallup(The Cure). Any suggestions?

I've been using an MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe for a few years now, and I love it. It has a built-in crossover circuit, so that the chorus effect is only applied to the higher tones, while leaving the lower tones uneffected (which is *ideal* for bass). Love it!

Analogman Mini Chorus with deep mid and wet/dry blend. It can do everything from subtle to `80's and sounds nice and clean. If you're looking for something with an EHX Clone vibe, it's the one.
