Need help with identifying a string [incl. a reward]

Hello friends, here's a tough one...

I've spent hours on the forum(s) in the search for the right B string for my 33" scale. With the peg close to the nut this has turned out to be quite the challenge. Then I found this guy here (actually I've had a custom Maruszczyk bass built and he sent some interesting videos including this absolute gem): .
I mean... right!? Ohhh, I was skeptic first, after watching the video, trust me - I started (which I absolutely recommend to anyone) with some older/used sets from my longer scale instruments, but the learning curve is quite steep so here I am gigging with my 3rd set on my instruments.

So I basically started to repurpose some of my used 34" sets. And I've found THE string among the used bunch (There are some strings where this works a bit easier, the 3rd layer seems to be wound somewhat "stiffer" I guess). But I don't know what brand it is !!1!! I don't keep the packaging/boxes, I just throw all of them into one big box....So here's the question of the day: Would some of you string nerds here be able to identify the string? As a reward, you can have the very trick above. Well... you've got it anyway by now, so you might as well return the favor.

The string(s) are bright as hell. Might be a steel?, I don't know, I'm more of a nickel kind of guy, but there have been experiments in the past.. However, the core seems to be darker. Of the same dark color as a typical nickel string (this I'm pretty sure). E.g. On the second picture there's the string next to a Fodera nickel wound. The ball ends are golden, on the entire set. There was no silk.

Looks like a hybrid string, like a GHS Bassic (?) Steel under wraps with a nickel plated final wrap.

I was thinking the same thing. GHS Bassics are one, and as far as I know, Rotosound Roto Bass has the same NPS/SS hybrid construction. And of course the new Dunlop hybrid with pure nickel and stainless steel.

...except they're all stainless steel, so less likelihood of having a darker inner winding than the final cover.

Rotos have colored ball ends.

I'm definitely thinking some sort of DR string. Possibly Lo-riders?

Stainless steel feels totally different from nickel, at least to my fingers. Stainless feels grippy and rough, while nickel and alloys feel smooth. Bright or not, that’s how I would rule out stainless.

I would guess DR because of the plain ball ends and no silk.

That’s a great video and string hack.

I would just buy my favorite strings and do the modifications.

really ? I thought rotobass was a NPS version of the roto 66 minus the silk

I didn’t know it was that much different but I loved them on my Sandblasted pj with GZRs

now I’m using labella polished stainless limited strings

According to the info I got from Rotosound Customer Service, both the Swing Bass 66 Nickels and the Roto Bass have stainless steel inner layers with NPS final cover. That's what we mean by "hybrid" construction.

Guys, thank you so much, I think I pretty much narrowed it down to the Roto Swings. I'll 100% confirm once the new set arrives though.

Rotosound strings have color-coded ball ends, red-blue-white-red (E-G). Plus, the Swing Bass Nickels have light blue silk on them. The Roto Bass have no silk but the same color-coded ball ends.
