Need help with irig/AmpliTube volume with iPad and playalongs

Hello!

I decided I can practice more at home if I practice with headphones on. I currently have an Irig Pro with AmpliTube that I use with my iPad. I like to do the Hal Leonard playalongs online in Safari. The issue I am having is matching the volume of my bass with the volume of the play along. To get my bass volume to match the play along volume I have to turn it up high enough that it distorts. Is my only option to get a mixer and use my iPhone and iPad into it? Any direction greatly appreciated and I apologize if this has been discussed to death. I could not find a thread on this. I think I figured it out after a lot of digging around. I need to go through my Mesa D800 I believe. The weird thing is last time I tried this I think I had to unplug the speaker out on the amp.

That also turns your bass volume down. I am getting a small mixer so I can unjust the volume of both and mix together with headphones. My Mesa sounds so much better than the iRig and AmpliTube. I am giving up on that for now.
