Need help with my Warwick Dolphin.

Hello Fellow Bassist:

I got a '91 Dolphin Pro I and I lost its battery cover. Where can I buy it in the United States? Also, it has Bartolini Pickups and Preamp and I would like to put on it the original MEC Pickups and preamp. Is there a dealer here in the States where I can buy them?

Bartolinis were stock in '91. If you must change the electronics I would save them as that bass if fairly rare. Just my .02 Hope that helps. Congrats on a nice bass, I enjoyed mine while I had it.

Why not just order direct from the company in Germany? Regardless of where you order, the prices will likely be steep.

As far as going back to MEC pre and pickups, many around here prefer a Bart setup. However, that may depend on the exact Bart setup that you now have . . . and, one certainly appreciates the sentiment of stock appointments.

The new US distributor is US Music. I don't know if they have re-established their affiliation with Guitar Center. You might consider calling either one, depending on your motivation.

FWIW, Dana B. never responded to any of the several emails I sent, and US Music does not have anything yet. I went through quite a saga recently trying to get some pickup-height screws for my Fortress. Seriously, the Custom Shop is "it".

I hate to hear that US Music is still not up and running. I tried to get a tuning key replaced on my new Jazzman and it was also quite a saga. The guy I talked to was quite nice and tried his best to be helpful, but they had just taken over and they didn't have anything. Sounds like they still don't have anything. I eventually got some tuners, but they were the wrong color and I got a few extras. I just sold them and used that money to buy some nice bushings, which were what the problem really was. Stock Warwick tuner bushings are CRAP!
