Need Help with Rewiring Washburn XB-400 Bass!

So I have started the process of rewiring my entire xb400 and replacing everything but the pickups. My plan so far is to make it completely passive with 2 volume knobs and 2 tone knobs. I am not sure if this will work. I don't know if the pickups are active or passive. The eq onboard before I gutted it was definitely active. If the pickups are active, could I still wire it as a passive system?

The pickups onboard are Washburn 941 and 943. I can't find anything about them online.
They each have one thick black wire with a small white wire and unshielded wire inside that black wire.

Does anyone have any ideas?

If those are the only wires going to the pickup, then they are passive. Active pickups require at least three wires - ground, signal, and +9v (or whatever DC voltage they run at).

Your plan to run two volumes and two tones will work fine. You can't really isolate the tone pots - when both pickups are full on, both tones will affect the whole signal. Not really a big deal though.

Those are passive pickups. The center white wire is your hot, the braided shield is ground. Use the 4 control diagram if your choice.
