Need IEM help. Again.

Agree...it's all about what works for YOU (or me, or them, or whomever). I had some custom-molded earplugs (not monitors, just to block sound) with replaceable/variable attenuation filters, and they HURT to wear. Crappy mold? Probably...the audiologist didn't have a lot of experience with musicians.
Agreed.... the first set of half-molds I had done back when I started dabbling with IEM's - by a hearing-aid center, whom you would think had the experience - that went on the end of my Westones HURT like crazy.
Both my subsequent molds were done by an audiologist who has done hundreds and the is the "official" audiologist for a local mega-church with literally dozens who went there (which is why I went) to get molds done and sent to 1964.
Both of my 1964 sets of buds can be worn pain-free for hours on end.

I had my impressions done by the audiologist at Jerry Harvey audio(free of charge). It's nice because the person that made the impressions is the same guy that preps them prior to the mold process. The fit is absolutely perfect and the experience was great. It ended up costing me the same as an office visit by the time the gas bill was paid.

In between sets, first time with the Westone 30s. These are light years away from the cheap (inexpensive) Shures I was using. I'm VERY happy! I hear bass! All I heard with the others was clicking and clacking. So much easier to pay attention to what we're doing now. And have fun doing it.

Thanks for the input everyone. @two fingers is up next :).
