Need lightweight power amp

Hey guys.

So i have alembic preamp and 900@ 4 omhs power amp. Which is 2u and weighs a ton. It hurts my back every time i have to move my rack somewhere. I love the sound of alembic, but i cant stand the weight of my rack anymore.

Any lighweight power amp suggestions?
There are plenty of genz benz and tc extremely small and light and powerfull bass heads. So maybe there are power amps too?

Stewart World 1.2 is 1000W bridged into 4 ohms and is 1U rack space.. it's only a couple pounds. They don't make it anymore, so you will have to find one used. I just picked one up off of the talkbass FS section and love it.

I have also been using a Crown XLS1000 (8.6lbs, same for the 1500) with my fEarful. It's quite light, but sounds good. It was funny, my previous 2u rack, that had a power conditioner on the back, tuner and pre on the front is actually heavier than my 3u rack with the pre and the Crown. I was under the impression that the Peavey wasn't bridgeable, otherwise I probably would have gotten one of those. But for my application I needed/wanted to be able to bridge.

The Crown has a combo 1/4/speakon as well.

I don't find the Crowns xo useful in my, personal application. Thats not to say others wouldn't find it useful. what i wanted was a high pass filter to roll off everything below like 35hz....the crown's bottom freq is 50, which def is a mark against it.

hey IPR owners....is the Peavy1600 adjustable below that because the PDF says 56hz, and that may be for illustration only?

I never use mine either because the preamp I'm using cutoff freq lowest is 35hz, so the Crown stays stereo or bridge.

The Alembic has plenty of output power so power amp input sensitivity is not an issue. My opinion:

Stewart - great amp but a throw away if it breaks; the 1.2 does run hot when pushed so it really needs 2 rack spaces

Peavy IPR & Crown XLS - super lightweight chip amps; long term reliability is unproven (they haven't bee out that long) but a ton of love here

QSC PLX - not as light but used by pro touring companies; much more expensive than the Crown or Peavey but very robust design from the guys I trust in the know

Carvin - a lot of love here but I've never used one

My 3000 sez 100hz, which would be setup for powering subs. I haven't used it other than full range. I do hope that the fdeck high pass comes into fruition soon.

100hz? the pic I'm looking at is on page 26 figure#20

The next menu allows the selection of a high-pass filter for each channel.
This filter reduces unwanted, potentially energy-robbing low-end
frequencies from entering the system (Fig. 20).

You're looking at the DSP features for the IPR-1600DSP and the IPR-3000DSP, which are different amps from the 'standard' IPR-1600 and IPR-3000.
