Need some quick vocab help

Ok, have a little maturity here

What's a word that describes a situation in which a smaller number is better, like golf scores.

Basically, complete this sentence, "Golf scores are _______, the lower your final score, the better you did"

For those who must know, I'm working on a presentation about industrial chillers. Part of the presentation is about their efficiency. As the measure of their efficiency drops, the more efficient it is. I don't think 'inversely proportional' is the proper term, as 'proportional' implies a reference to something else.

Thanks for the help.
