Ive come upon what is perhaps a bad habit. I have a nice IB SR405 5 string bass, on which I put a black colored 5th string. The rest of the strings are normal colored, like DiAdario XLs. My thinking on the black 5th string was it would help me visualize the neck better after decades of playing a four-string bass. It turned out to be a great visual trick. Problem is I cant remember where I bought that one lousy black string! I want to change out the strings, but cant seem to find a source for single black colored .130/.135 bright sounding bass string.
The ideal would be to have a black colored 5th string, and a red colored 4th string! But must be bright and funkable. I emailed juststrings, but they couldn't assist. Any ideas?
