Need string recommendation!!

I'm a fairly new bass player and have changed my strings only twice. Once I took it in to GC for repair with the battery and knobs(on my 4 string ibanez.) the strings they gave me where awesome. Just PERFECT. Second time I got whatever the clerk recommended. These are absolutely horrible. HORRIBLE. So much buzzing, the strings were lose and did not make a good sound. I also changed these myself.

My question to you all: What is your ideal strings? I need a brand. I have seen elexier ads in bass player magazine. I do not know which strings I had or have. I play everything from funk to metal.

You probably will get a more answers than you could possibly want. I went through a lot of strings and settled on Dr's. I would try a set of DR LoRiders. they are available in nickel and steel. It depends on the sound you are looking for. Nickels tend to be warmer. Also like DR Fatbeams. Do some searches on the strings forum.
