Need suggestions for lightweight bass.

So I bought a Peavey foundation with an original case from Ebay for $240 total including shipping.:hyper:
He says it weighs 6 pounds. It has the soap bar pickups.
I tried to get the P J style one but was outbid on that one so I just used the buy it now on this one.
I hope i like it. I told myself I wasn't going to buy something sight unseen and what do I do? By something sight unseen! HA!:hmm:

Danelectros are all super light, and short scale, but the newer ones are an acquired taste. There is a Dan Armstrong Modified Danelectro on eBay for $750 which is the best of all worlds. Original Danelectro parts, with added modifications and all personally built by Dan Armstrong himself. You get an added tone circuit that really makes it pop. To understand, listen to Springsteens Born to Run album. ALL the songs on that were played with a Danelectro Longhorn 4 with the same modification that came on the Dan Armstrong Modified Danelectros.

If I had the cash, I'd get the Dano myself.

Otherwise, Lightwave Sabres are the lightest you'll find out there that are currently in production. Although if you can find em the Lace Helix basses are also decently light.

So the bass came today. It has a nice slap sound to it.
But the damn input jack is messed up and the
strings are different heights.
He did not mention this in the listing.
I have never worked with an input jack before but I am assuming I will need to make a new connection and re-sauder the wires?
I don't think it is very light. But I have not weighed it yet.
Body is bigger then what I am used to but not too bad.
I have 24 frets on my others and this has 21, so that's differnt
for me.
It does have some neck dive.
Overall I really like the sound of it. Great for slapping.
Has a lot of room in the front to slap.
Came with a case and it fits my other bass's. So that's a plus.
He sent some strings but never heard of them before (Alice brand)
So I will need to do a little work on it. I am not sure about this
stock bridge.
Maybe a bad ass bridge would be better?
