Need SVPCL Output Mod Specifics Please

Just bought an Ampeg SVPCL
Serial # D5JD890001
Using it with an Ampeg SVP 1500 power amp

The preamp output is MUCH lower than a Yamaha PB-1, Alembic, or Presonus Channel strip but the tone is fantatstic

Have searched (and found) many threads on this mod being necessary for early units

Can anybody tell me exactly what the mod is and/or a post or schematic
