NEEDED:Distortion like the ODB-3 but better

I posted a quick clip of the Pork Loin vs ODB-3 vs massive fuzz. It's running through a basic digital amp sim, not my MESA 400+. Find the clip here in the 2012 section. http://cgraham.com/chris/music/sound_clips.htm Sounds vastly different pushed through tubes, I'll try to get a clip of some sort this upcoming week. Love the Pork Loin slamming the MESA 400+, it's aggressive, but extremely well defined and definitely not distortion. I do like fuzz for less speedy playing, it's so thick and monstrous. But it doesn't work well in my current play-fast-picking punkish rock.

My Monte Allums/germ-modded (for sale) Metal Zone does that. I just don't use dirt at all for my bass sound.
Anyone tried the EHX Analogizer? It has both a blend for the gain, as well as a short delay before the gain for a doubling effect.

I've been loving the overdrive half of my Germanium4 Big Muff for punky pick style stuff the past month or so. I keep the gain dimed, the tone full counter-clockwise, then bring the bias up (from fully CCW) until I have enough grit.
It's got a little bit of a weird top end thing happening when I use it with fingerstyle playing (with my bass, amp, amp settings etc..) if my technique gets at all sloppy, so I wasn't sure if I liked it until the lightbulb went on and I started pulling out the pick again.

I can try to get some soundclips together if you want after the weekend...

It's been awhile since I've had an ODB-3 so I can't reliably compare the two...I really liked it for what it was until I went through this thing where I was using EMG's - the classic active ones...ODB-3 sounded terrible with the EMGs...

I'm wondering - when you say you've tried taking out some highs, have you tried a filter/EQ *before* the ODB-3? I remember whenever I had to add some eq to the sound of that pedal, it always worked out better eq'ing what was going in, rather than afterwards in the chain. Just a thought.
