hey guys

so this month i drastically changed and upgraded my bass rig. I just thought id give you guys some bass porn :D

I will start off with my new cab. A Gallien krueger Neo 212. But whats this?? Its a 4ohm version! That means it'll get all 480/50W my head has to offer.

Next up is the brains of the operation. A Gallien krueger 700RB-II. The head puts out 480W at 4 ohms and delivers 50W to a horn. Becuase i ahve the neo cabinet and this head I can use the GK biamping feature!

And now to the effects. There are only 2 that I use really. A Sansamp Bass Driver DI and a Bass Big Muff Pi.

So thats the rig in terms of amps and effects and whatnot. i got those earlier this month.

Now to whats really new...

It plays like a dream.

I actually had enough money for a real EBMM but after side by siding them over the course of 2 days i decided i couldnt tell the difference between the sound or feel, and that between the price and finish, i would just go for the SBMM

LOVE IT

Nice rig!

Do you find that the tweeter amp helps the sound any? I know its supposed to keep the treble clean when you are over driving the amp, but when you hit the big Muff it will still send distortion to the tweeter.

I have a GK 1001 RB2 driving a Schroeder 1515L (the one without the tweeter). It sounded kind of boxy until I put a VT bass pedal in front of it. Now it sounds like an SVT in a small package. You might want to try replacing the BDDI with a VT bass. It has a much wider range of tones and it really cuts it live. I found the BDDI would make my rig disappear live.

The BDDI makes the Aerodyne come to life. I almost never use it without it.

But ive found not using it with the Ray makes for a better tone in the mix.

Ill give the VT bass pedal a try.

and to answer the 'how does it sound' question ill hopefully do a cover or something and put it on youtube so I can show you guys the sound. its great really. the "Bi-amping" is awesome tone wise.

Lots of people say I'm an idiot for hating guitar hero. I always say "I don't need GH. I play the real thing."



Nice rig too, I was gonna go the same route until I saw a old Peavey 2x15 for the same price. I have to go to GC to pick it up. Well, I don't really NEED to, it's just that they have a 77 Ric 4001, a 70s Gibson RD artist, AND a 70 Fender Precision. I'd have to be a guitard to resist playing those.
